carusoam Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 The M20R requires two batteries. I have a dead Gill. Do I a change both for Concords? Or change out only the dead one? I would prefer the better batteries but I am concerned about two different weights and voltages. Best regards, -a- Quote
29-0363 Posted March 8, 2012 Report Posted March 8, 2012 I had a Concorde RG24-15 battery in my Ovation GX2, that failed after about 14 months while still within their warranty period. Despite numerous emails, providing proof of installation date (new at MAC) and warranty card properly completed, Concorde did nothing and further emails were ignored. Despite their poor performance WRT warranty, I feel their batteries are superior to other brands. Quote

NotarPilot Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 Is there some modification you need to do to the plane if you want to use a battery minder? I don't want to have to remove the panel on the left everytime I want to hook up the battery minder. Quote
KSMooniac Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 The Battery MINDer comes with a harness that connects to the battery terminals and has a quick-connect 2-prong fitting on the other end. I routed mine from the tailcone compartment through and existing grommeted hole in the aft bulkhead, and into the baggage area. My IA considered that a non-permanent installation and no big deal. I plug the Battery MINDer in through the baggage door, and can even gently close and latch the door with the wires in the middle of the opening (to keep critters out). Quote
xftrplt Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 I have the BM on the hat shelf, then hard-wired (including the temp sensor) to the battery (a Concorde!) via a small hole. The BM is connected and powered up with AC whenever the acft is in the hangar. Use the quick disconnect to isolate the BM when flying or parked without AC; if left connected, it will drain the battery. Quote
DonMuncy Posted March 28, 2012 Report Posted March 28, 2012 If you happen to have a plane with built in O2, the oxygen filler door is an ideal spot to run your Battery Minder. Quote
