Glen Davis Posted August 27, 2022 Report Posted August 27, 2022 My 1984 J spends her nights with a 1946 TCraft. The TCraft is clearly a cougar (even though I’ve seen no Grumman markings). It’s been going on for almost a year. I didn’t think it would last but now I’m not sure. Anyway, my TCraft is in need of a good old fashion directional Gyro and a vertical speed indicator. Does anybody have one of these or both they would like to sell me at a reasonable price. Please PM me. Quote
A64Pilot Posted August 27, 2022 Report Posted August 27, 2022 I think I gave away my new VSI and new Altimeter to a neighbor, but I’ll look. Sorry I did, just have a manifold pressure and old altimeter and a tach somewhere, but it’s flt timer is set for 2,000 RPM My J sleeps with a 46 C-140, I looked long and hard for a T-cart back in the day but couldn’t find one that didn't need major work. Do you have this book? They are disappearing like everything else, but can sometimes be found Quote
Glen Davis Posted August 28, 2022 Author Report Posted August 28, 2022 No. But I’ll hunt for it total. Thanks for sharing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote

carusoam Posted August 29, 2022 Report Posted August 29, 2022 When searching for pre-flown avionics… Consider seeing what @Alan Fox has available… If you want TaylorCraft specific stuff… there must be a TCSpace somewhere…. Best regards, -a- Quote
Pinecone Posted August 29, 2022 Report Posted August 29, 2022 No, THIS is a Cougar. This plane (with different paint scheme) used to be based on N71 and was available for rental. I have about 32 hours in it. Nice airplanes. Quote
carusoam Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 Visiting Henry Weber can be dangerous…. you come in at ground level with a Mooney…. And things can get 2X more expensive there…! Lots of twins in that neighborhood… Best regards, -a- Quote
Pinecone Posted August 30, 2022 Report Posted August 30, 2022 Cougar was an interesting plane. Hit the market as a Light Light Twin in the days when the Duchess and Seminole rolled out. Mainly for the training market. O-320 engines. But the airplane was designed to be released in increasing performance versions, with a planned cabin stretch and eventually a version to compete in the Baron/310/Aztec market. So a very roomy cabin, But Gulfstream only wanted the jets, and killed the piston line. It would be interested to get one and upgrade to IO-360s. Or even TSIO-360s. Quote
