Mooney Service in San Diego Vicinity

Hello,

Where can I find a decent repair shop (or A&P) for a 1966 M20E? The only local MSC will not work on an older Mooney (Coast at KMYF) except for an existing customer. Someone who knows the manual gear and rigging.

Both Advanced Aircraft and the old Gibbs maintenance shops at MYF and Socal at SEE maintain plenty of Mooney’s.

Jared at Coast is just grown paranoid of older Mooney’s; having no mechanical background himself.

Gear rigging requires a set of specialized tools for Mooney gear…

If they have the tools… they are halfway there…

Is CrownAir no longer at MYF?  They did well by me for a pre-buy several years ago, and spotted a number of Mooney-specific issues right off the bat.

Crown Air got out of the repair business a few years ago.
