  1. Hello, I have no space on my M20E panel for an engine monitor. I do have two VORs. Should I lose a VOR, and put the monitor there? I like having two. But, with a GPS for location, one VOR/ILS would be enough I think.
  2. Here is a picture of the alt switch (below VSI under panel). Also, I have this "pull on" button. I do not think it is for alt air. I think it is for the vacuum pressure for the old autopilot - which I have yet to use. This lines look like they move up the panel, not toward the VSI.
  3. Mine doesn't look like that. Will contort, and get a picture.
  4. The placard on my pilot side panel refers to the alternate static source behind the VSI. I found it. But, not sure it would be useful as it is. There is no knob to pull while in flight. Is there suppose to be some kind of knob? Open pull down, close push up is the operation according to the placard. Appears to be closed at this point.
  5. Thanks for the help. I need to replace them because they are rusted and painted over. They didn't fall out. As a matter of fact, they were a pain to remove. I noticed a fuel seepage that seemed to be under the trim. That is why I removed it. Good time to re-do the wing walk.
  6. Need to replace screws in the trim at the wing root. Can't find description in the parts manual. Nothing at Home Depot matches.
  7. I used a Quinn, 1/2 inch drive 25-250 ft lb. adapter from Harbor Freight. Digital Torque Adapter. It's not certified or official, but I used it as an additional aid.  Just another idea.

    Good Luck!

  8. Thanks for your help. I should be in the 2000-2350 limitation.
  9. Hello, My manual states no continuous operation in the 2100-2350 rpm range. Has this changed via supplement since 1966? I have been told that it is 2000-2350 for some older Mooneys. Also, does range mean 2101-2349 not used? My manual lists 2350 as an OK rpm in the cruise date, but not 2000? Thanks for your help.
  10. Checking the tension on the landing gear. I know the required specs. But, I have read that the proper way to confirm the inch-pound release is with a shim. When it slips out, check the torque number. But, where is the shim placed?
  11. Thanks for the input.

  12. Crown Air got out of the repair business a few years ago.
  13. Hello, Where can I find a decent repair shop (or A&P) for a 1966 M20E? The only local MSC will not work on an older Mooney (Coast at KMYF) except for an existing customer. Someone who knows the manual gear and rigging.
