JayWoodring Posted May 17, 2022 Report Posted May 17, 2022 I am sure this was talked about already but I can't find the thread. Has anyone replaced their bacon and nav lights with the ones from AeroLED? If so on the Beacon what mounting plate did you use and on the nav/strobes how hard was it to run the new wire to operate the strobe separately from the nav light? Thank for any info in advance. I have aero LEDs strobes and nav lights (and tail light). I won’t be much help, because I bought the airplane with them installed. I did contact the company twice due to a inop tail light and a wingtip light that filled with water. They replaced both, no questions asked, and I didn’t have any documentation. They have all worked well for 7 years since. One thing… do you still need a beacon? I no longer have one. The wingtip strobes can cover the appropriate area to allow removal of the beacon although I’m not sure on the exact specifics of that rule. Running the wire shouldn’t be terrible using all the inspection covers… well, and removing the interior. Maybe not fun? 1 Quote
Buckeyechuck Posted May 21, 2022 Report Posted May 21, 2022 We’ve just run some wires for the new roll servo (Garmin GFC 500) for my ‘62 C model. Our airplane has fuel bladders so pulling the inspection covers in those areas is not a good idea. We disconnected the nav light wire, soldered a wire to the end of it, pulled it back into the cabin, tied the new wires to it and pulled back through. It worked well. 1 1 Quote

Same here....i had them installed in 2012. had the water problem....replaced no charge. All still running great! i have the wingtip strobes, Suntail strobe, & PAR46 landing light. I removed by belly beacon. 1 Quote
