vorlon1
I flew two separate 20 minute VFR flights (to and from a local airport) yesterday. I operate out of a class D (KILM) airport, and used a distinct transponder code. Neither of the flights show on FlightAware. This is the first time this has happened to me. Has it happened to others? I flew yesterday with ATC flight following and transponder codes and noticed that FA only showed the initial climb and the last couple of minutes prior to landing. The leg showed up as if it was two flights. Normally everything under Atlanta's B shows up. I figured it was just an anomaly, but will check it in the future. Probably just due to the supersonic cruise portion....radar couldn't keep up. 1
PeytonM
Could be switching different ADS-B ground sources (public/private)? I used to be able to get VFR as one of the map layers on FA, but I do not see that option. Any ideas? Is there a way to plot a FA flight map onto a sectional? I know I can do it with FF. RLCarter
A very large percentage of my flights don’t show up, when the do show up it says something like “1st seen near” or “ position only” ….. It has been that way for years, doesn’t matter if with ATC or not, in and around class “C”, “D” regularly. Thought when I installed ADS-B the flights would start showing up, but no joy….. by the way this is in either the Mooney or Cessna, have looked up buddies flights and some show up, some don’t…….
spistora
My vfr flights rarely show up on flightaware. I also operate out of a class D.
carusoam
Check to see if you have clicked the position only flights button by chance…? The only thing I know about FA and why it wouldn’t show my flights… Best regards, -a-
ArtVandelay
I setup an alarm when my plane is detected, I get the email before reaching pattern altitude. Might depend on which ADSB out you’re using and if there’s a ground station that’s no longer operational.
kortopates
i get the FA email by just starting up!it matters what how close you are to a Ads-b antenna (i receive as many as three on the ground), whether you have Position reports enabled with in FA, and it appears to matter whether you are UAT or 1090 equipped. I can’t escape ADS-b surveillance once my avionics switch is on even if i tried.it doesn’t need to be in D, or C or B airspace either. I am fully tracked throughout Mexico and doesn’t drop less than 100% coverage till CENAM.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
