Ipad foreflight plates

For those of you who use Foreflight on an IPad; Sometimes when I pull up a plate, there is a "close" button on the upper left, which is fine. Other times, when the plate comes up, that button does not show. I have tried tapping the plate,etc, and sometimes the close button appears. Other times I have not been able to get it to appear. Does anyone know how you are supposed to get that close button consistently.

The close bar should toggle with a single tap.  Tap once and you see it, tap again and it hides.

Where do you tap?  Anywhere on the screen?  In the area where the close button resides?

Sorry to burden all you folks with what may be easy stuff for you. But I flew with my IPad for the first time, and could not find an airport diagram for my destination (HYI). Do some airports just not have airport diagrams. If not, any idea why.

The KHYI (San Marcos) airport diagram is the little icon left of the Header in the airport section.  Touch the icon to get a bigger pic.  HYI does not publish a taxi layout in the NCAA format so one is not included in Foreflight. Some airports like KGNB dont even get an airport icon (no instrument approach)

Thanks, I figured the answer was something like that. I had hoped that each airport had a taxi diagram, so I could put it in my plate binder, and just switch from one plate to another to go from arrival, to approach, to taxi.

There are multiple sources of airport diagrams that show the layout of the runways and even taxiways, but I am having trouble finding anywhere other than Jeppesen that identify the taxiways by letter. I recognize that if Ground tells you to take Charlie and Julliette to 17, you can head out to Charlie and turn in the direction which will take you toward 17, and stay on Charlie until you reach Juliette. But for my level of intelligence, it sure is easier to have a chart in hand to map out the route before I start to roll. Where do you get a print version to take with you on a flight to a place like San Marcos. Am I missing something easy.

Don, you may have already figured this out.  On foreflight on the airport summary page there is a button in the upper right that says taxi diagram.  That will show you the same taxi/airport diagram you find in a printed NACO approach plate booklet which has the taxiways identified by letter.  If that button is grayed out, then the airport diagram is unavailabe and would not be in the NACO book either.
