lamont337 Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 My girlfriend bought these for me and I thought I'd share. From Flying Magazine, the second one is from '62 and the rest from '58. Check out the cost per mile in the first one! First post so hopefully the pics attach correctly... Quote
rbridges Posted December 26, 2011 Report Posted December 26, 2011 thanks for the pics. I love those old ads. I wish I could fly for 6 cents/mile. Quote
aerobat95 Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 Awesome pics....thanks for sharing.....I have often thought about trying to find some on Ebay. Quote
kerry Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 The 2nd pic looks like the same plane as yours. I've notice your plane at vgt. You're tied down just behind my plane. That black and red paint scheme is to cool. Quote

eldeano Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 Awesome adds!! I did my original flight training at VGT. Call in at Kyle Canyon Road, report over the Santa Fe for 12R. Quote
jetdriven Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 i find this one downright funny. Where else but texas can you buy a new airplane and get two new colt 45s with it for free. It is from 1968. Coy Jacobs put it on the cover of the MOA pilot. Quote

Shadrach Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 That's a nice collection! I scored a 1967 issue of flying with an F model (same paint scheme as mine) on the cover. I also bought an ad that shows cut aways with interior room and passengers sitting in comfort. One of the passenger is smoking a pipe, can you imagine sitting in a Mooney cabin with a pipesmoker??? Shadrach Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 Quote: flight2000 Ummm, no!! I need to put a placard on the passenger side that says "If you must smoke in flight, kindly step outside first!" Wonder if anyone has ever lit up a cigar or cigarette while flying their own aircraft? I'm sure they have, just never seen it (thankfully never smelled it in a rental aircraft either...). Brian Quote
lamont337 Posted December 27, 2011 Author Report Posted December 27, 2011 aerobat95 - I'm pretty sure thats where she got 'em. kerry - Thanks, I really like the paint scheme too but it needs to be re-done. (wishlist) Which one is yours? There's at least 3 Mooneys in that row of sun shades i think... jeev - speaking of paint, I'd like to scope out your nice new paint job some time. I'll pm you later in the week. Quote
DaV8or Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 Wow! I had never seen the "moon" style Mooney logo that they had in the '50s. Kind of cool. My head is spinning with delight from the ad from '68! That promotion so would have worked on me!! Love it! I so wish I got a pair of Colts with my plane! Quote
aerobat95 Posted December 27, 2011 Report Posted December 27, 2011 Well I just ordered me a couple from 1974 from Ebay.....Thanks for the idea lamont337 :-) Quote
