I’ve replaced mine using piano wire but leaving the sheath in place. The parts manual will help tremendously in how to get it done. 0537e324606f9df8e9da5242e8b27bd6.jpg

Can you lube it without disassembling the headliner?

I just lubed mine the other day by moving the vent to full open and angling in the spray straw on the trilube and hitting it with a squirt of lube.  Don't know if it's the right way but moves much better now.
