I would have preferred it the way it was in the parts manual, but this is how the install instructions show it. Flat end on top on these instructions.  First pic is the diagram from the install instructions, second is the IPC

Affirm.  Still dealing with a few minor squawks.  Have about 25 hours so far on it.  Flew it yesterday from Coeur d Alene Idaho to just south of San Francisco

Do you notice the extra power? Takeoff? Climb? Cruise?

Yes, but it's not earth shattering. Definitely climbs better.  Picked up a couple kts in cruise.  Uses a little more fuel.  I haven't fully formed an opinion on it just yet.
