I have more SwitcheOns coming into stock. They are flying off the shelf. I talked to a guy that had to drive an hour each way to plug in his airplane just to go flying in the morning so we'll take care of that for good. Remember, SwitcheOn has a lifetime warranty as long as you continue the service.

Is there an instruction manual or a trick to setting up the automation?

I bought a SwitcheOn last winter. I plug a space heater in the cabin into one channel and the Tanis engine heater into the second channel. It is very nice to be able to turn them on independently from my phone whenever and wherever. I usually turn the Tanis on overnight and preheat the cabin 2-3 hours before flight time.

The only thing you have to remember is to set it up when leaving the hangar each flight. Forgetting it once and having to make the drive to fix a problem that you paid good money to solve usually is enough to correct faulty memory errors.

The next thing I need is something that will clear the snow on the apron between the hangar and ramp. My airport management thinks 5-6 feet from the hangar door is acceptable, I may be moving to another airport to solve that problem. That's another problem for another day.

I do the same with my Tanis.  Turning on a space heater remotely makes me nervous.  Aren't you worried about it falling over?  Getting too hot?  Melting something, or worse, starting a fire?

Get one of the little ceramic cube heaters, they don't get very hot.

Will it be safe to setup outside? No hanger, just on a post in all the elements?

Or do I get something like this: https://tinyurl.com/SOCKiTBOX?  Maybe run external antenna?

Yes absolutely. We have many of these boxes outside in Alaska. Some Alaskans keep their airplanes outdoors but they have a post with electric to it so they can preheat. We have boxes outside in -40 degree temps with mounds of snow sitting on top of them.

I have an excellent inventory of 2 channel, and 4 channel (15 amp and 20 amp) versions in stock and ready to ship. Pair this with a Tanis cabin heater and it makes for an exceptional preheating solution!

SwitcheOn is incredibly popular and I have an excellent inventory, ready to ship! You can order SwitcheOn off my website below. If you are just powering a single engine block, then a 2 channel device will work great. Be sure you check your amperage because there are limitations with SwitcheOn. A Tanis or Reiff preheater only needs the 15 amp version but if you are utilizing an Aerotherm, I recommend the 20 amp device.

I have an excellent inventory of 2 and 4 channel SwitcheOns available for immediate shipping. Generally speaking, you order it that day, it ships that day. It gives me something to do to get out of the office, to drive over to UPS or USPS :)

I love my Switcheon, just passed the year mark recently. Does it have the hardware necessary to sense humidity on board also, or just temperature? Having the temp is great but being able to read the humidity in the app from wherever I am would be even better. @OSUAV8TER

Just temp! Sorry - I dont think its sensor has the capability to pick that up.

I really like mine also and have the same thought about sensing humidity. I use one channel to switch a dehumidifier, automating that would be nice. On a side note, I had great service from Sean/Jake when I had a power surge on mine recently.

Are you dehumidifying the hangar or just the engine?  If the former, I don't even need to see it, I know I'm already jealous of your hangar!

My hangar isn't anything special but I do have one of these in it: https://smile.amazon.com/MIDEA-MAD30C1YWS-Portable-Dehumidifier-basements/dp/B07NRDBBH5/ref=sxin_14?asc_contentid=amzn1.osa.ad4c9e4e-d868-4f3d-b9f0-8addc39b845f.ATVPDKIKX0DER.en_US&asc_contenttype=article&ascsubtag=amzn1.osa.ad4c9e4e-d868-4f3d-b9f0-8addc39b845f.ATVPDKIKX0DER.en_US&creativeASIN=B07NRDBBH5&crid=12NS0AH5UT874&cv_ct_cx=portable+dehumidifier&cv_ct_id=amzn1.osa.ad4c9e4e-d868-4f3d-b9f0-8addc39b845f.ATVPDKIKX0DER.en_US&cv_ct_pg=search&cv_ct_we=asin&cv_ct_wn=osp-single-source-earns-comm&keywords=portable+dehumidifier&linkCode=oas&pd_rd_i=B07NRDBBH5&pd_rd_r=3b84667e-66a0-4bb9-a723-ac93f4ffc9b6&pd_rd_w=RRyuC&pd_rd_wg=wqLBO&pf_rd_p=5846ecd6-3f37-4a28-8efc-9c817c03dbe9&pf_rd_r=KHPACRDJ3JEX7Q5QQWD6&qid=1642202820&sprefix=portable+dehum%2Caps%2C134&sr=1-1-64f3a41a-73ca-403a-923c-8152c45485fe&tag=21oak-20

It was recommended by someone on the forum a year or two ago and I was initially skeptical that it would do much.  It actually works really well. After a rain when water runs across the hangar floor, it will dry the concrete in about a hour. According to the display it maintains about 40-50% humidity in the hangar when it 80-90% outside.

Just my Pirep, I’ve been waiting more than 2 months for my Switcheon.  Fool me once!

How 'sealed' is your hangar to the outside air?  I would expect to lose quite a bit of the dehumidifier's effectiveness to the gaps under my door and the lack of any insulation.
