Turn on Nav Lights - Gear down light goes off !

Just pull the throttle all the way back momentarily to see if the horn blows

Went to the hangar to test this out - Mooney for sure dims the light in my 252 if the navigation lights are on. As the Mandalorians in Star Wars say "This is the way."
