Mooney_Allegro Posted May 5, 2020 Report Posted May 5, 2020 (edited) Electric Mid-Continent Attitude Indicator, removed from a 2015 Mooney Acclaim Type S. It has about 700 hours and was removed to install an L3 ESI-500. Works perfectly, but has no paperwork with it. The stats are below: MFG PN: 4300-313 Serial Number: J15-10554 Rating: 10-32 VDC, 1.5A MAX Weight: 2.7 LBS Panel Tilt: 0 degrees Lighting: 28V B/W (Blue/White Lights) MOD: 5,6,7,8,9 Cost Comparison: A new one would cost $3,100 and an overhauled unit would be $2,000 Price: $500 including shipping within the Continental USA via FedEx Air. Dave 770-365-6464 Edited May 8, 2020 by Mooney_Allegro Clarified that the back lighting is 28V. Quote
LANCECASPER Posted May 6, 2020 Report Posted May 6, 2020 Someone should grab this immediately. These are great units. They are rated to 7500 hours mean time between failures. For someone who doesn't have a second attitude indicator, if you add the slip indicator you can replace your turn coordinator with this and add a nice margin of safety. 1 Quote
Alan Fox Posted May 6, 2020 Report Posted May 6, 2020 Great price , Also Lance didn't post it , but the unit is dual voltage , its only the lighting , that's 28 volt 1 1 Quote
Mark89114 Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 What is the legality on installing it with no paperwork? Quote

Whether it has paperwork or not, where I live it's up to the discretion of the installer whether to install it. That's why I hire a reasonably minded A&P/IA. Quote

tmo Posted May 15, 2020 Report Posted May 15, 2020 Shouldn't it technically read: "if a N-reg airplane" instead of "if in the US"? Quote
Ross Taylor Posted May 16, 2020 Report Posted May 16, 2020 I'll take it! It looks like my backup just failed. Perfect timing to see this. Quote

Sorry Ross, it's been sold already. I've been getting a lot of calls in the last few days. I tagged it sold, but it's hard to see if you're not looking for the sold tag on the original listing. -David Quote
Ross Taylor Posted May 16, 2020 Report Posted May 16, 2020 Hey all...what a gentleman! David just called me to apologize, which was completely unnecessary...because he did tag it sold and I missed it in my excitement! Totally my fault! Thanks @Mooney_Allegro Quote

Dave 770-365-6464 I must be blind, but I don't see that it's listed as sold. Edited: Ok now I see it In a couple months I'll have one coming out of my panel that has an inclinometer and a backup battery, otherwise same unit. Quote
Ross Taylor Posted May 17, 2020 Report Posted May 17, 2020 And that @LANCECASPER makes me feel better for missing the "sold" tag too! Quote

LANCECASPER Posted May 18, 2020 Report Posted May 18, 2020 I don't think 8 degree tilt will work on a Mooney. Quote
robert7467 Posted July 9, 2020 Report Posted July 9, 2020 I think you can send it in and have the tilt adjusted. Quote
