M20F Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 In need of a new tow bar for 67F, what do you like? Quote
Hank Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 (edited) This is what came with my plane. I powder coated it to match my paint. http://www.chiefaircraft.com/vik-2.html Edited November 23, 2019 by Hank 1 1 Quote
drapo Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 I use the Bogert tow bar, unlike the original equipment, it won’t slip as you pull! https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/pspages/bogibars2.php 1 Quote

Jerry 5TJ Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 The Sidewinder works well for moving a Mooney. Plenty of power to get around the ramp or over the hangar door rails. Folded it will fit in the baggage area. Quote

I love the idea...Looks great, my neighbor in the next hangar to me has one, looks like he love it. I just don't love the price. I've given great consideration to building an equivalent. I think it would be possible, but I can't say that I have the time. Edited November 23, 2019 by cctsurf Quote
Jerry 5TJ Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 I use the Sidewinder for the PA46. It has enough power to move that 4000# plane in and out. Compared to a small gas powered engine tug the Sidewinder price is comparable. I sold my Power Tow III once the Sidewinder proved itself. Quote
cctsurf Posted November 23, 2019 Report Posted November 23, 2019 I grant that the price is comparable to a gas powered tug, but I think all of these are overpriced. but then again, I think I qualify as a CB. Anyone tried this one? the minimax tug? https://www.minimaxtugs.com/mooney-powered-aircraft-tug-p/010mooney.htm Quote

For use in your own hangar, I like mine as well as any I have seen. To take with you on a trip; no. For plans, or to get me to make one for you, PM me. Quote
Planegary Posted November 24, 2019 Report Posted November 24, 2019 I just designed and built one that has a turntable in it ( see the same named thread in the general Mooney section) that is if you are willing to build it, but you would need an old riding mower to use it to power it Quote
