Thanks guys.  Peter (Allsmiles) sent me some photos this morning as well and his is installed the exact same way.  I really appreciate you guys taking the time to take these pictures and post them.  I certainly hope that I can return the favor sometime.

here is my installation. Notice the filter is pointed in the reverse of most of these installations, but it alows me to put it in a better place to allow access to oil fillters and such. Hose is 193 hose, and the 90 degree elbows are from Wicks Aircraft Supply, 5/8".     enjoy.

were the VP Air Filters an option on the J, cause my mate's J doesn't have on and the pump just let go after 300 hours...

Its i the parts catalog, which means approval on the M20J for earlier models and a minor alteration.
