Ok. I am confused. Went out to go fly. Tried the Hi-boostpump. No joy starting the plane. I though....mmm. Let's try the primer switch( I was under the impression that the switch will not work due to the fuel solenoid been removed). Pushed the primer and wholla. She, primed and no issues. Here is a picture of what the mechanic removed. Did I missed something??IMG_2286.thumb.JPG.b753c8903ac56e52be6398bf4d873513.JPG

I had to replace that there diverter valve after my plane got out of the avionics shop in January. It was to the tune of 3.2AMU's with no possibility of an overhaul. If it's the same diverter valve, Valcor does not have an OH procedure or manual available. The cost is about 3x for the 14v version and availability is scarce. If you're lucky enough to have 28v system than you're in a much better place. If you do need the 14v item there was one left in Texas.

My symptoms were that the engine would not run without the boost pump. Something in the valve was restricting fuel flow.

The engine type cert had the valve in. Neither Mooney nor the AP would sign off on bypassing the valve.

Good luck.
