The-sky-captain Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 I took a short trip of about two hours round trip today with four adults and 45 gallons of fuel which put me right at gross weight. Density altitude was at 2500' when I departed this afternoon and I was still getting some pretty good performance (800fpm) out of the old bird. I was pleasantly surprised, as were my passengers. The ladies in the back couldn't get over the amount of legroom they had. I wish everyone that reads the negatives about useful load and space (on Mooneys) would take the time to go up in one of these planes. They sure are a one of a kind. Quote
mooniac58 Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 Wilco that. My M20J impresses me with something or other pretty much every time I take her up! Quote
TurboExec Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 Yup the majority of people who will tell you a Mooney is too small or can't carry anything have never been in one themselves. Quote
KSMooniac Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 I agree completely with all of the above! I've taken a 450nm trip with 4 adults and weekend bags in my J. It is very doable. Quote
