cwalter Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 Can someone help my identify the cylinder numbering for my 231 with TSIO-360? I've found firing order etc but no means to identify which cylinder is what number. Quote
tony Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 It should be cast in the block next to each cylinder. Quote
carusoam Posted December 18, 2010 Report Posted December 18, 2010 You can be pretty comfortable that Continental numbers their cyllinders in reverse order to what lycoming does. For proof of this, check your JPI (if you have one) or similar. Go to flight summaries on the EZ Trends software and a simple graphic comes up. Wish I could cut and paste it. Continentals are numbered from the back...1,3,5 on the copilot side. 2,4,6 on the pilot side... Lycomings are shown as just the opposite... numbered from the front 1,3,5 on the copilot side (so they have that in common).... -a- PS: disregard the cht and egt data in the attached file, I am not sure where it came from... cwalter Posted December 18, 2010 Author Report Posted December 18, 2010 Awesome - Thank you. I assumed this from a mag wiring diagram but you never know if those images represent physical cylinder location and I had to assume which end was front/back. I questioned it based on plug rotation. 1/2 and 5/6 make the biggest move while 3/4 just swipe sides and T/B. Thanks Again! Quote
