TheTurtle Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 (edited) I have a big red no step on my flap and my buddies wife still stomped right on it. Fortunately shes a 110lb filipino woman so it didnt even budge. First thing I did when I bought the plane was fix the wing walk. I got a quart of it from spruce and it lays down really easy. Just mask it off well. Easy job and makes the plane look a ton better immediately. Edited January 31, 2017 by TheTurtle Quote
Marauder Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 I wonder if any has tried to use bed liner spray. I put it on the painted portion of the tailgate of my pickup. Holding up well.Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
bradp Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 I put the flaps down when anyone but my immediate family gets up into the wing. The steep angle is a gentle reminder to not even think about stepping on the flap. Also I'm very proud of my 3.5 year old she knows to only step on the wing walk. Bennett Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 A couple of photos of "no step" on flap and end of wing walk and leading edge. These seem to work (along with my pre board /pre departure admonitions. Photos show reflections from overhead hangar lights Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
RobertGary1 Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 I'm also thinking about refreshing my wing walk by simply rolling some new wing walk material on top of the existing. Mine is faded and has some chunks missing. Sounds like people have been very successful at it without the need to strip. -Robert Quote

Use some poster board before you remove it to make a template. Then after you remove it use some Goo Gone to clean off the old adhesive. The KSC Regular Grip 24" product works very well. If you order 6 feet, around $30, you'll have plenty for the job. The Super Grip is too difficult to work with - ask me how I know. http://www.kofflersales.com/p/anti-slip-abrasive-tape.asp?cid=23 Quote

Probably only if it's no longer adhering Otherwise just put new on top -Robert Quote
MooneyMitch Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 " I added "no step" to my flap, and do far as I can tell, no one has. For what it is worth, ArtCraft paints their non skid in the same color as the wing." Yes, ArtCraft does that unless you specify different. And, my new wing color is pearl white! So, guess what color my wing walk is? What, are you crazy Mitch? Quote
