My intentions are not to be rude but are E's really selling for $70,000 now?

I hope they are!

I'd pay for a fully decked out E versus a ratty J at the same price point.

Planes are only worth what someone else is willing to pay....  ;)

Cheers,

Brian

Along with what Chuck said... with every short or mid-body Mooney I see for sale, I like mine even more.

I've looked closely and researched every single short or mid-body that's come up for sale in the last three years. I'm certainly not in Jimmy/David territory, but I think I've got a pretty good idea of valuations. I'm not in the market for one, but it's very interesting to me and I'm sure I will be in the market one day. And at minimum, I'll know what to offer Bob's wife for the E.

There seems to be an average value for a given model and then a ceiling as well.  The best value is probably to find one priced at the ceiling but with an additional tens of AMU's invested in avionics, speed mods, engine, etc...

I agree wholeheartedly but a buyer may have trouble convincing the lender of the value. I didn't see any mention of a WAAS GPS or ADS-B out so there's additional money to spend right away.

We all know they're not worth all the AMUs and TLC we put into them.

When I first did mt panel upgrade, 3+ years ago, I was able to insure a '66E for $100,000. I've since reduced that to $80,000. But I paid for the plane, the panel, and the other extras out of my heirs inheritance so I did not find out if a lender would be tougher than an insurer.

I am waiting for Kuljit's pictures...

I get the feeling you will be buying a fabulous panel with a fabulous attached plane for 70K.  Pretty powerful stuff.

Best regards,

I agree. Sounds like it's worth every bit of $70k. My E has a few goodies his doesn't but vice versa as well.

Note to the size matters crowd... his SkyOx system is 4 place. Wonder why the luggage, that the back seat is only good for, needs O2?
