  1. Hi Steve, my serial number is 29-0475. I can not trim down using electric trim switch. I am able to trim up without any issue. We replaced the switch without any improvement. Don Maxwell looked at the issue and said it is Garmin Servo even though plane flies on GFC 700 without any issue.
  2. I am looking for part number for Garmin pitch/trim servo. I have 2007 Mooney Ovation 3 with G1000. Any help will be appreciated
  3. @Danb thanks so much! I really appreciate your input
  4. Thank you so much. I will call them before I start flying only to fly right back with empty hands. LOL!
  5. these units came from cirrus and seem to have the correct serial number and I planning to fly to go to Don Maxwell shop this month. I am based in California and I was hoping may be someone else has the experience since Dallas is long flight. Thanks
  6. I have G1000 with GFC 700 without the WAAS. I have bought the used GIA63W units along with the new WAAS antennas. Does anybody has any shop that can do this work for me. What kind of software update do I need? I understand that changing the hardware is the easy part. Any help or suggestions are appreciated
  7. Hi I have Ovation 3 but my electric trim switch has gone bad. Wondering if someone knows where to get this switch. Thank you
  8. Wondering if anyone might be able to post a wiring diagram for the ovation 3 electric trim switch. We have disassembled the switch but want to connect the wires to make sure servo is working properly. Help will be appreciated wry much
  9. I have Mooney ovation 3 with G1000 with GFC 700 autopilot. My electric trim switch is only working in one direction. Autopilot is able to control the trim in both directions. Any thoughts will be appreciated. Apparently some have had issue with wiring coming loose in the yoke. We are planning to look into yoke on Monday
  10. I have a friend at Santa Monica who might be interested in selling his J model. I can get u his info if interested.
  11. weep no more and you get a life long warranty. They are the best guys in the business of sealing tanks on Mooney. Don't show up to LASAR in Northern California.
  12. most likely you got a dead cell in the battery if everything else is ok. It happened to me last week. placed a new concord battery and all is well. kj
  13. I am done posting on the topic! If anyone has any question they can send me email and I will respond as honestly as I can. once again thanks for the feedback
  14. Tom sorry to break your heart on your beloved shop. Don't cry too much!
  15. i have been in aviation for the last 13 years and own three planes and I am not going anywhere. So don't worry! For Tom' information last fuel repair was performed by weep no more which has bigger name than LASAR in repairing fuel tanks!
  16. Tom! I appreciate your feedback. I don't need your money since I might have more than u. It is my right to voice my concern and if you dont like it you don't have to read or respond. May be no one taught you about freedom of speech!
  17. Once again I am proud to be part of this community. I really appreciate some of the feedback I have received. I think it is my duty to share my experience with a shop. It is just my experience and intelligent reader should keep my experience with this shop in mind in future when dealing with them. I can't be faulted for sharing my experience since shop has been very good in the past. Past is not a guarantee for the future. I will write an email to shop tomorrow and offer to pay for double the hours I was quoted by his mechanic Chris when I brought the plane but not the 4k bill. I will update everyone here on the matter. We all make mistakes and may be shop will be brave enough to slash my bill. I don't mind posting my email at this forum if some readers want to see it! once again I am thankful to those who appreciated my posting on the shop! It is not easy for me to do this! I have plenty of money. Thanks
  18. Thanks for feedback! Will refrain from word "fraud". I am trying to help others with my story as well. There are many bad guys in the industry that are making flying unaffordable for so many and forum like this really helps !
  19. Thanks for the response! I have been aircraft owner since 2003 even though not mooney. I also own Baron 58p and Cessna 182. I am very well aware of shop's reputation of good work and that is why I took my mooney 5 months ago for pre buy and annual and paid 10k for additional minor work. I paid 10k without a single question. I trusted them when they gave me 5 hour estimate to seal a leaking area . I tried to tell Paul that it is not fair. They should have informed me about the hours as they were doing the work . It is not a very old plane so entire tank did not require resealing. I have posted the paper work since other readers wanted to see it. I am sure LASAR has done excellent work in the past but that does not give them license to deviate from fair billing! I will post the outcome. I think it is fair game to post something like this so others can be informed and they can judge the evidence on their own.
  20. thanks for the post. I have posted the paperwork and any feedback will be appreciated. thanks

  21. I have posted my story about how I was charged close to 4000k to fix a fuel tank leak when I was only given 5 hour estimate on new to me 2007 ovation. People have asked me to post some paperwork so they can give me honest feedback. This area of leak was also worked by weep no more in 2012 and they only charged 250 at the time. so here we go! I want everyone to know that they only sealed the area of leak and not the entire tank and it is 2007 ovation 3. I am in the process of canceling my credit card payment and willing to go to small claim court! Any feedback is appreciated. I don't want to cheat someone of his honest hard work and at the same time I don't want to be cheated
  22. Jeff you made a good point! I am not just venting. I have been aircraft owner since 2003. LASAR did my pre buy and annual on Mooney 5 months ago and I paid 10k. I was informed that it took them long time to find the leak in the tank. There was not damage to the tank. It is not a very old plane. Weep no more had done some repair in the same area 4 years ago and they charged 250 dollars. I know this guy has good reputation but I honestly believe he is falling apart being in wheelchair and now he is trying to be super aggressive in his billing. They should have called me and informed me that how many hours they have logged in without finding the leak. If it takes u 36 hours to find a leak in a realitively new plane u don't know how to look! I will post another PIREP on this shop. I honestly believe this shop is losing its credibility it once had!
