GeorgePerry Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 With a BRS this thing would be a cirrus killer. Â Can't wait to see the full spec sheet. 2 Quote

LANCECASPER Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Finally the backup instruments are in the middle instead of way over on the right side. 1 Quote
carusoam Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Remember this from a ways back....? http://robrady.com/design-project/mooney-aviation-company-interior-cockpit-design Pilot side door, instrument panel and a couple other things being explored here. some things just stick in the memory. Best regards, -a- Quote
NotarPilot Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 All I can think of when I see all that glass in the panel is "$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$" Hopefully I can afford a nice used one in 2055. 1 Quote
Jerry 5TJ Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016  Maybe the doors also function as speed brakes?    1 Quote
carusoam Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Hartzell needs to supply a spinner with about 1/4" larger diameter.  There has been a step mismatch with the cowling for years... Now would be a good time to get it righter.... Best regards, -a- 1 Quote
Piloto Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 The double doors would allow for a bigger extended center console. This would enhance the interior appearance. José 1 Quote
LANCECASPER Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 (edited) In an emergency evacuation, nice to have two doors with which to exit. (an extra step might cost a couple knots though ) Edited February 11, 2016 by LANCECASPER 1 Quote
Joe Zuffoletto Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Looks great, but I'm disappointed they haven't applied the 310hp STC, which they now own. 1 Quote
IndyTim Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 Wow that's sweet. Â Would sure be nice to squeeze BRS into it though. Â I think that's one of the most significant advances in aviation safety to come along in a while. Â 1 Quote

carusoam Posted February 11, 2016 Report Posted February 11, 2016 I know an MSer with an STC for a linear motor application that could be used to remotely raise that step. It's current application is  automatically adjusting mixture... Hmmmm, maybe the new Mooney could use automatic mixture control..? - automatic mixture control for climb (blue box EGT) - Peak - LOP - ROP How is that thought, Rob? Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

Best regards, -a- I like it!  They could be the first OEM on the block to have the system!  How cool would they be then?  Actually talking to an Acclaim owner and the FAA about possible installation.  With tight GAMI spread, it would read TIT and manage mixture that way.  Have heard from a number of K owners as well, but no takers to date.  I have drafted field approval paperwork to piggyback on the STC for anybody not covered.  I would also consider broadening the STC if there was enough interest in any particular models.  With some additional software work, the system could also help manage TIT redlines.  1 Quote
exM20K Posted February 12, 2016 Report Posted February 12, 2016 ...and they got the gear lever back up where it's supposed to be! Quote
Hank Posted February 12, 2016 Report Posted February 12, 2016 It's right where mine was installed in 1970, except the panel is taller so the switch is a little higher. Where was yours (mis)placed??? Quote
chrisk Posted February 12, 2016 Report Posted February 12, 2016 What is that white thing next to the gear switch? Quote
Marauder Posted February 12, 2016 Report Posted February 12, 2016 What is that white thing next to the gear switch? LOL! I asked him that exact question. It is some sort of lever you need to move before you can activate the gear. Never saw one before until his plane. Didn't ask if the gear lever has a detent like most of the rest. flyboy0681 Posted February 12, 2016 Report Posted February 12, 2016 And for three quarters of a million dollars, it can be yours. Quote
