Does anyone know where the 20 amp inline fuse for the ampmeter is located? The wiring diagrams shows one installed but doesn't show the location. My ampmeter will not show a charge or discharge.

I mean this in the nicest possible way, good luck! It could be anywhere & I do mean anywhere.

The easiest way is simply to trace the wire from its origin until you find it. It is a pain in the butt, but really the only way to track it down.

This is the only place I can find fuses in the ammeter circuit. I don't know where you're seeing a 20 amp fuse at.

I would think there is only one plug that goes through the firewall up high.  Remove the Starboard radio access panel.  I think the mag P Leads also are in that plug

mine is under the right hand access cover just in front of the windscreen, if you have the 201 windscreen and the panels have sealed off its going to be a pain, it's at the upper right corner area aft of the firewall   65 E

The ammeter shunt is usually located high on the firewall on the right side.  The two inline fuses are within a few inches of the shunt in the wires leading to the instrument cluster.

As Clarence points out... Find the shunt, the ammeter is technically a voltmeter measuring the voltage drop across the shunt.

The drawing is showing two 10 amp fuses.

Try using a continuity test across each fuse.  If one is burnt or broken it should be easy to find this way.  Expect a broken wire or oxidized connector may be a problem as well.

On my '67C they were on there were 2  fuse holders (10 Amp ea) on the right side panel the were not inline fuse holders.

I have since moved the fuses  to the firewall  in a dual gang inline fuse holder . The original setup  the fuse holders took up  too much panel space and were in the way.
