Ned Gravel Posted September 13, 2015 Report Posted September 13, 2015 They stopped using the antenna port on them about five years ago. Perhaps it is because yours is mounted with its back tucked into the panel (where an AirGizmo would be). Mine worked without anything connected to it on the windscreen and then the yoke until I replaced it with my iPad two years ago. I kept it and use it for the road when I am away from home in North America. I still update it every year at the BK pavilion in Oshkosh. If the iPad solution fails me, I will have the old standby. Ned Gravel Posted September 14, 2015 Report Posted September 14, 2015 Yeah I have to use the external antenna. I've taken apart one of the broken ones that I have and there's not much holding that antenna adapter in place. It's very fragile. It won't work unless I get the alternate GPS signal because it's mounted so far into the panel. When it's in there it looks great... But I've gone through 4-5 of them. It's very frustrating because I like it and I'd like to keep it - but I can't keep changing the units out when it's discontinued like I'm changing underwear!!! That and my other gripe is the wingman software updates only works on windows, and with certain Java versions. Another Apple user? Why do you think I need to get the updates done by BK in their Oshkosh pavilion?
