  1. Perhaps a closer look at what Johnvmorgan2001 said to start this post may be in order. First post, second sentence, "When I land after a flight, the engine quits just before I turn off the runway." Appears the discussion has little to do with "leaning on the ground after start-up... prior to departure..." Agreed, some good responses indeed.
  2. Some interesting answers above. However, the gyroscopic effect dragging down the prop while turning off the runway, having mixture too lean, at less than 700 rpm may certainly stall the motor. Especially if the turn is abrupt and at greater than 45 degrees. Best practice is to not lean the motor until off the runway and keep rpm no lower than 700 to 800 during turn.
  3. Indeed. I have had a 231 Trophy 262 that has dual alternators. Second one is belt driven.
  4. Wish I would have known earlier. Had a few new old stock switches in unopened packages you could have had for $100 including shipping.
  5. Hello Carusoam, Reasonably familiar with STC process, have done a few through the years. May be able to put something together sometime after Christmas. Have waited quite a while for some folks that have talked about it to do the wingtip rec lights, but it seems no one has got it done yet. Many people are just switching to LED landing / taxi lights and calling it a day. I like the looks of wingtip rec lights. If inexpensive enough, perhaps a few folks might agree. Thanks for the shout.
  6. Indeed, wasn't aware Garmin made wing tip recognition lights. These wingtip rec lights can easily be made for less than $30 in parts. Very tempted to go for an STC.
  7. Indeed... Been over 6 months now and nothing on the Whelen website about it. Probably be $300 for a $30 item anyway.
  8. Anyone happen to have a part number for the pilot side, right handle, yoke mounted, KFC 200 autopilot disconnect / trim interrupt switch - with red button? Mine is round and says CS 8109 C2003R with a 3 below it in center of the switch, but nothing comes up on a search. After nearly 38 years, the plastic around the inside edge holding the red button in finally gave up the ghost and a small piece broke off. Have used electric contact cleaner a couple times through the years with good results. Switch has been a little flaky last several years, sometimes disables electric trim. Have had to wiggle it a little after using it to get electric trim to work again. Autopilot function not affected, only electric trim function. Much appreciated.
