Fingers crossed I've always been able to pop open an access panel and patch with some Flamemaster. When the day does come that I need to start over I'll refer back to this thread. Which service is Paul? Is he west or east?

Peevee,

Now we are totally mystified. Have you removed your posts from this thread? If so, why? At some point in the thread we learn that you did not own the plane when the work was done. You never actually spoke with Paul until yesterday.

From what we see, one phone call with Paul resolved your issue. Paul was so upset that he felt compelled to post, which he rarely does.

You have not shown the graciousness to post follow-up after your call with Paul, even though (presumably) the issue has been resolved to your satisfaction.

A simple post "There was a miscommunication and all is good" with the possible addition of a "My bad" from you might be appropriate.

I did. Because the thread had already started to devolve into a direction you seem intent on forcing it, and because I got tired of explaining everything 2 or three times because people didn't actually bother to read my question. I mentioned SEVERAL times in the thread I had already contacted paul.

The original question really had nothing to do with him, it had to do with getting our plane fixed. I had already explained the entire situation but nobody bothered to read it.

No, one phone call didn't resolve the problem, one phonecall got him to agree to fix it. One phonecall doesn't get the plane to MN. Along with some mention about "some guy bashing him" on the internet, which I suspect is probably your doing. He did however offer to pay for fuel, which I won't allow.

Here was his original replay back in July.

later it was implied, or I understood it to be implied, to have an A&P service the gaskets when he said "any msc should have them". When our A&P quoted us 10 hours of labor to replace the gaskets I came here to ask about it. THAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS THREAD

Since you seem intent on not beleiving and/or reading, here, here is that email also.

Ok I get it, Paul offered to fix it, your not happy.

Here is your original post,

anyone had a warranty claim with weep no more?

Our tanks were done a year ago and now they're leaking at the gasket where the lines exit the tanks, just aft of the pilot and passenger seats at the wing root and into the cabin, creating some smell. It's fairly clear the the rubber gasket around that fitting wasn't changed as it's clearly pretty old and dry/cracking.

Our A&P is happy to do the work, but he's of the opinion those gaskets should have been changed when the tanks were done, something about having to get inside the tank to release something and about 10 hours of labor to do both sides.

I had previously emailed weep no more and was pretty much told it wasn't a warranty issue, but that was before I heard back from our A&P, so I was planning to call them and maybe if I didn't get anywhere set up a conference call between the three of us and try to hash it out.

What do you think? Am I crazy to think we shouldn't have a leak anywhere just over a year after a 12ish AMU or whatever reseal job? Maybe I'm being unreasonable.

You asked if anyone had a warranty claim, I said I had a claim, albeit not in warranty that Paul did in warranty anyway and suggested you call Paul. You did. Your not happy inspite of him saying he would fix your seep.

You ask what we think, I told you what I thought. Call him for resolution instead of implying Paul flat out said he wouldn't stand behind his work here on this forum.

You ask if you are crazy, I cannot render a prognosis, unfortunately.

I asked if you had ordered new gaskets with the reseal, and learn you didn't even order the work or own the plane when it was done. As my dad used to say, "quit you bellyaching" and let the man stand behind his contracted work he did with another party for your benefit as he has offered to do.

You have an A$P friend who wants 10 hours labor to change out the gasket, which is not where Paul said it is sealed anyway...hummmmm...

Just flashed to an old Doors song. Thank you for that. They had another song that describes this thread..."People are Strange"...

I'd have said it myself, but I don't want to get shot crossing the border.

How did we miss that? Well, your post starts with: "anyone had a warranty claim with weep no more?" It goes on to state: "I had previously emailed weep no more and was pretty much told it wasn't a warranty issue, but that was before I heard back from our A&P, so I was planning to call them and maybe if I didn't get anywhere set up a conference call between the three of us and try to hash it out.

It's not immediately clear from the above that you were concerned with how your A&P came up with 10 hrs of labor. It is clear you hadn't spoken with Paul.

We now learn that Paul has offered to reimburse your cost of fuel so that he can fix the problem. Your response: "No, one phone call didn't resolve the problem, one phonecall got him to agree to fix it. One phonecall doesn't get the plane to MN. Along with some mention about "some guy bashing him" on the internet, which I suspect is probably your doing. He did however offer to pay for fuel, which I won't allow."

For the record:

1) In our opinion, speaking to Paul prior to posting would have avoided all of this.

2) What you post and what you intend to convey are different.

3) Paul's offer appears generous.

4) Your suspicions notwithstanding, we had nothing to do with "some mention about 'some guy bashing him on the internet'." However, if you reread your post, you state that you were "pretty much told it wasn't a warranty issue." Since you hadn't spoken with Paul and that's not what his e-mail said, you are impugning his reputation unfairly. (Definition of bashing?)

5) You clearly aren't interested in taking the high road. What are you gaining with your continued escalations? (This is a rhetorical question – no reply expected or necessary.)

6) As for your being unreasonable: at this point, yes. Say thank you, let Paul fix the leak and enjoy your plane. (Maybe tighten those 5 screws in the interim.)
