xrs135 Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Since I couldn't get the time off to go to OSH this year... I decided to treat myself to some new seats. Big difference from my 68' original! 8 Quote
Marauder Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 Who did them? They are beautiful! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Quote
MB65E Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 Maybe I shouldn't go to Oshkosh tomorrow either? Looks awesome!! -Matt 1 Quote
M20F Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 To add to the questions who did them and how much? Quote
N33GG Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 Awesome! I have the same questions as above.... Quote
xrs135 Posted July 18, 2015 Author Report Posted July 18, 2015 Jack Purdue out of Jackson, CA. He came highly recommended from a few people on here. I stopped by one day and saw his work and was sold! Can't wait to see them in the plane! 1 Quote
xrs135 Posted July 18, 2015 Author Report Posted July 18, 2015 I also had the seat backs and bottoms perforated for cooling purposes! I definitely could have had it done more cheaply... But the quality of this guys workmanship is unbelievable and he uses really nice quality stuff. $2,600 including the perforation of the leather. 4 Quote
ryoder Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 2600 is a great price! Did that include new foam or just leather? I love the perforation. Quote
ryoder Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 If I skip Oshkosh for a few years do I get a new engine? 1 Quote
xrs135 Posted July 18, 2015 Author Report Posted July 18, 2015 That price included everything. Removal/install, frames repainted, new foam and leather. 1 Quote
johnbkeck Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 Really nice! How far was the flight from Reno? Do you know if they could address my old cracked and yellowed plastic side panels without breaking the bank? Did you drop off the plane or pull the interior out? Thank you, John Keck 724-759-9900 Quote
fantom Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 Very nice job by an obviously talented pro. Quote
bonal Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 Jackson CA is a really nice town in the Sierra foothills gold country. Since it seems like they did removal and install how long did it take and did you drive back to Reno or stay for a nice vacation Quote
carl Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 I bought my plane from Minden Nv, South of Reno. I spent alot  of time in the area. I love it . Except when it snows then the roads suck. I'd guess 3 hour drive in the summer, going south of lake tahoo.  Awesome job. Quote
xrs135 Posted July 18, 2015 Author Report Posted July 18, 2015 35min flight, and about a 2hr, 15min drive on hwy 88. I was lucky enough to have a buddy of mine fly down there with me in his RV-9 for the flight back. Quote
rbridges Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 I showed my wife the picture and she just shrugged her shoulders and said, "so what, beige seats?" I said look how nice they are, and she said they're just seats. Oh well, what can you do. Quote
PTK Posted July 18, 2015 Report Posted July 18, 2015 They look great! First class at a great price! Quote
