I am new to the forum, and new to my 252 M20K.  The avionics master switch has broken and I would like to replace it.  Any suggestions on where to look for a replacement would be appreciated.

I had repeated problems with the avionics master.  I eventually tried to buy a replacement and found that impossible.  My AI removed the switch, cleaned and lubricated it, and re-installed it and I haven't had a problem since.  I'm not really sure how you lubricate an electric switch but that is what he said he did.

If it's just the plastic switch cover that is broken you can repair it with epoxy. Be careful to use just enough along the break between the 2 pieces and on the inside of the switch so it doesn't ooze out the front or interfere with the operation of the switch because once you put the epoxy on and let it set for 5 minutes, that's the last chance you'll have to fix that break (don't ask me how I know this). Also, don't try super glue or any other whiz bang adhesive products - use 2 part epoxy for plastic.

CRC Contact Cleaner. Auto parts store, etc.

Works wonders on the connections. I don't know if the moving parts of the switch need something else.

When I was researching the non-CB switches for mine I found that some piper switches were the same exact dimensions. Check out http://www.chaparralparts.com/ and search for 99377.

The dimensions I was looking for were

hole 1 11/16 or 1.6875

rocker 1 3/16 X 5/8 or 1.1875 x 0.625
