1.

I was doing some minor maintenance yesterday and found small puddle of oil under what I think is the prop control assembly. See attached pic. You still can see a little oil there after I cleaned it up.

Today after my approaches practice I found the puddle there again.

Any suggestion what could be a cause and how serious that could be? I have flown today with no problems and prop control shows no signs of trouble. I used it a lot today as I did all kind of approaches and missed ones too.

2.

Is there special kind of zip tie for aviation? I have found couple of loose wires and some broken zip ties and I'd like to replace them.

3.

Second picture shows the white build up on my exhaust pipe going from the engine to the muffler. It looks like it is leaking at the connection point. I don't see any weld there. It is very close to the cowl flap opening so I am not concerned about CO but the question is again how serious it is and should it be fix immediately or can I fly to the shop?

Thanks

There are no special Ty-Wraps that I'm aware of. There are some who think they shouldn't be used at all, but they are so easy...

Prop governors can leak a lot when they decide to leak. It usually isn't an issue except for the mess. You could put it off until your next annual unless it starts to be a consumption issue.

I would fix the slip joint on your exhaust. It shouldn't be leaking like that. You might find the inner tube has eroded away. Exhaust teaks that severe shouldn't be taken lightly. You can fly it to the shop as long as its not half way across the country.

Thanks. Short and right to the point.

One more thing if you don't mind.

How to "disconnect" the cowl flaps when I want to remove the bottom cowling? I don't see any " quick connector" only regular nut and bolt on the end of the rod. Thanks.

some of the older aircraft just have fixed nuts and bolts holding the rod to the cowl flap, they can be upgraded to the quick disconnect if you want to.

Neither the propeller or the exhaust should leak, both require fixing. If oil were meant to leak from the engine or its accessories they would not use gaskets or seals. The exhaust slip joints will normally leak a little, nothing like the leak in your picture.
