flyboy0681 Posted February 5, 2013 Report Posted February 5, 2013 The old King KMA is starting to bite the dust and a new panel is in our future. It's coming down to the PS Engineering 8000b (sans Bluetooth) or the Garmin GMA-340. Opinions please.

Love mine.
carusoam Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 I like the idea of BT for calling in a clearance. I am still considering a battery powered one in the meantime. Best regards, -a-
rbridges Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 no experience with either, but my CFII loves the PS engineering. He says it's the clearest audio panel he's ever used and he loves the bluetooth edit--sorry, saw you said w/o BT.
M016576 Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 I bought the garmin. It's functional but overpriced IMO.

Best regards, -a- In addition to calling clearance, it's great to be able to call the FBO when they don't answer their Unicom!
N33GG Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 I have owned and flown the PSE units. Currently own and fly the Garmin. Both excellent choices. A new audio panel would be a coin toss between these units for me.
smccray Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Isn't there a PSE unit that's a direct drop in for the KMA24?
BigTex Posted February 17, 2013 Report Posted February 17, 2013 Yep... PS 7000 is a drop in replacement for the KMA24.
