Looking for a mechanic near Nashville

I am looking at a pre J model Mooney that is located near Nashville, but can not find a mechanic that is qualified to do a pre-buy inspection. Any recommendations in the Nashville area?

There is one individual in that area of Tennessee that buys damaged and flooded Mooneys as insurance salvage and pieces them back together. He doesn't necessary advertise them as such. Be sure you know the history of the plane you are looking at.

Have it flown about 2.5 hours southwest to Longview, TX and have the plane looked at by Don Maxwell. 903-643-9902

Take someone you trust with you. A pilot / owner who has been involved hands on in maintenance. Take Philips and slot screwdrivers and open panels. Read the logs.

That will get you 90% there.

Then request an annual.
