Passed my PPL check-ride in my newly acquired 1964 C model today! What a great plane. I look forward to some trips now.

I am not sure yet. Either Dallas Exec, Addison, or possibly Mesquite. I think Addison might have issues without a ramp pass, I am going to call an FBO. Mesquite is where I am going, but I dont think there is rental car acess there.

RBD is my base. It is a lot easier to get into and out of, both by air and ground. It is probably a little closer to Mesquite. I am sure rental cars are available, but since I live here, I'm not sure of the details. I rent my hangar from Ambassador. Give them a call. If you get in a bind, give me a call. I could probably break loose and get you to a local rent-a-car store. 214 207-6744.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You must feel great right now! Enjoy flying around, gaining experience, and get that Instrument Rating as soon as possible.

This is a huge milestone for me. My first instructor, great stick and rudder guy, but no path to a PPL, but he was great to learn how to fly the Mooney with. I just got a new CFI, and a couple of weeks ago he signed me off to a new airport "Olive Branch" and on Sunday I did my first solo class B to OB, then XC to Tupelo with flight following, then back to OB to drop him off, and then to West Memphis (flight following class B), and everything went off without a hitch. Now, after 70hrs I can actually use the airplane, and go to Dallas. I am so excited.

I'm just starting the CC portion of my PPL and looking at a Mooney to finish up in and then do my instrument in. Who are you guys using to insure a mooney as a PPL student?
