rbridges Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 I'm voting vacuum pump. I was helping my IA, and I have to think it's some kind of cruel joke. Three of the nuts are easy to access, but the 4th is buried where no tool really works. Honestly, to remove something held on by 4 nuts takes a few hours to remove. Quote
MooneyMitch Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 My vote, on the lycoming 4 cylinder.......... governor! Quote

rbridges Posted August 11, 2012 Author Report Posted August 11, 2012 Quote: JimR Rob, Did you not have one of these? If not, buy one before you next wrestle with a vacuum pump. Well worth the cost. How about the safety wire on the oil screen? That's a tough one. Jim http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/inpages/installtool.php Quote
rbridges Posted August 11, 2012 Author Report Posted August 11, 2012 Quote: kurtsnyder It's actually not that hard. My A&P came by with a chisel and a hammer and had it off in less than 2 minutes. I love little tricks like that! Quote
carusoam Posted August 11, 2012 Report Posted August 11, 2012 Fan belt??? Just not as easy as the automotive equivalent.... The fan has to be removed first. I have seen a couple of Mooneys with an extra one safety tied in place ready to go in the event... Thanks to polymer improvements, this probably isn't done anymore. Best regards, -a- Quote
