Mooney Trim

Ok, I know I’m probably wearing yall out - but I’ve looked everywhere for these little trim pieces. Mooney only has the one for the pilot side but they don’t make the others. They are the black pieces of trim that house the light switches and headset jacks in the back seat outside armrest. Any thoughts on where to get them. The old part number is 150085-004. This one is cracked. Thx in advance!

I would make one out of aluminum and paint it black. You can silk screen it yourself. Last time I had a silk screen made, it cost $40.

Or if that one is abs plastic, remove it, repair it with abs glue/putty, paint it, then reuse it.

That makes the most sense. Use the old plastic one as a template. It will never crack again….

Lots of places can make decals or vinyl placards. I get mine from the paint shop.

Interesting. I’ll take a look around plant shops. I’m not much good on working with aluminum. I’m pretty picky and I don’t stand up to my own criticism!

If you were to trace the outline and holes, I could draw it and CNC cut it.  Even add an extra hole for a Lemo plug.

If I looked for a place to do this, I'd have a trophy shop do it.

I think you can get black acrylic.  Cut the edges with a scroll saw, sand, and polish with a buffing wheel.

Homer dan will carry the tinted acrylic, it would by a little bit thicker, drilling a bunch of holes to then file down the square hole would probably crack it.   I would go with HDPE.    Funny enough you can get that at WalMart as a cutting board.  https://www.walmart.com/ip/Thyme-Table-Bar-Board-with-Knife-2-Piece-Set/1397835578?classType=REGULAR&adsRedirect=true
