donkaye Posted December 8 Report Posted December 8 As an option, you could send yours back to Shadin to have the display replace, if they are still doing them. I had my display replaced by them a number of years ago. Quote
Pinecone Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 I will post a picture when I get home. On a cruise, so hard to get to my hangar now. Quote

Alan N9127M 2000 Bravo Skyman Avionics has mine for sale. 541-604-9573. info@skymanavionics.com. https://www.skymanavionics.com/product-page/shadin-fuel-flow-indicator-912041t Previous owner had it repaired by Shadin in 2010 and I have the 8130. It was working fine when removed. Quote
musicman Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 I removed one from my J last week. It was working fine when removed. Quote
donkaye Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 I don't understand why someone would want to remove the Miniflo-L from their panel even when upgrading it. If there is one item where multiplicity of function is useful it is fuel quantity and fuel computations. Even though I installed the MVP-50 in my upgrade, I kept the Miniflo-L due to its usefulness. When my display goes out again, the unit is going in for repair, not removal. 1 1 Quote

On top of that shadin fuel flow sensor was always gumming up for me, even replacement become sticky after about a year. Quote

The intensity of the display is controlled by a potentiometer. Over time, with vibration of the panel, dirt, etc., this potentiometer can lose slider contact, resulting in the display intensity going to full bright or full dim. Simply wiggling the potentiometer back and forth a bit can often re-establish contact and restore reasonable intensity. We have had exactly the same problem as you, and I was able to resolve in just a few minutes with a small screwdriver. Instructions from the installation/maintenance manual are shown below. Suggest you slide the box out of the panel, tweak the display potentiometer a little, and re-install. It can't hurt, and might help. Quote
