Just came out of an Acclaim, closing on an Ovation.  Will fly it 9-11000.

2500 and WOT, what fuel flow should I expect to run ROP?

Once I get it I will find 75° ROP and settle on that. Just curious. Thx

Got to admit, not following the response.  I get your F model won't have the same FF, pls do enlighten me, M20F.

This is a topic, or variant of a topic, that comes up a lot.  You will get opinions, scientific response, opinions about science, and the science behind opinions.

As you do not have your Ovation yet, you should find a POH online.  PM me and I will send you one.  It will be close enough for your general questions until you get your own.

This is from a generic one.  Note that this is a 280 HP Ovation, not the 310 HP (by STC or an OVation 3)

The io550 doesn’t tolerate ROP any better than the tsio550

if you want to burn through cylinders , run it ROP.
(Edit)

to clarify, by tolerate, I didn’t mean the engine would run roughly.  I meant that it’s hard in the cylinders.
My original ovation, which I put almost 500 hours, had 1,100 when I bought it, is now at 2300 hours and still going strong.

The owner I purchased from flew lop exclusively, which is how I flew it, and is how the person who bought it from me flies.

after all this time only one cylinder has been oh’d in 2300+ hours, that is pretty convincing for me.

Similar to my experience.  Previous owner was LOP'er, as am I, and I have 5 of 6 original cylinders at 2200 hours.  310 HP STC at mid-life point.

Good testimony of longevity
