I removed old carpet and replaced with Airtex kit this afternoon.  Man, the refitting to cut out the fuel selector and time on knees as well as using screw driver to remove sidewall feet trim was brutal.  I got 'r done, but will be feeling "it" tomorrow.  LOL.  Tomorrow will be seat re-installation.  REALLY looking forward to that. ;)

Fitment is good.  Quality as well appears solid.  I like the rubber section at feet position to limit wear.  Thumbs up.

Got the pilot seat back in.  I am letting them put co-pilot seat back in during annual.  Enough of "that" fun for me.  New rollers and lap belts (for shoulder harness install at annual)...New carpet.  Not taking those seats out for rest of my ownership.  :)

The passenger seat is the easy one, because if the door opening. Thebpilot seat rubs thebfront corner on the outside wall when removing / installing, and tha back seat coned out easy, but installation teaches you new vocabulary while removing the skin from your hands.

I am glad no other area hanger-mates were in area.  I dropped a lot of explicatives Hank..lol

If you have to take the front seats in and out, I found buckling the lap belts and cinching them up tight against the seat bottom gives you a nice handle to both lift them in and out and slide them back and forward to get them on or off the seat rails.

I also cleaned at least a couple decades worth of black gunk off the seat rails on the floor.  I'm not sure what it was made of, but it took several applications of brake cleaner and a scrub brush to get it all off.  Shiny new looking rails was the result, sprayed them down with some tri-flow lubricant, and now the seats slide and go on and off a lot easier.

Still not a fun job, but better than before. 

I'm a younger guy, and the next day after all that cleaning I felt it on my knees and back too.

I installed the Airtex kit some 5-6 years ago when working on the ADSB transponder install. the old carpet was (once) high quality wool but very dirty and green. I decided I can't tolerate it and ordered a new grey one. It withstand a test of time and I'm very happy about it and it's fit. I can't remember I needed to cut the hole for fuel selector but it's been a while.

One thing I remember is it was significantly lighter (5, 10lb?) then the old one. Some of it might be all the dust and dirt in the old one... ;)

The amount of dirt I took out frm the floor was eye opening.  Yuck.  Surprised flowers were not growing...
