High TIT temperatures

Recommended Posts

For about a month I have been experiencing higher than normal TIT temperatures on my TSIO-520-NB rocket Engine in cruise or cruise climb with the mixture full rich. The lowest TIT temperatures in cruise climb and cruise is around 1530.

At a typical cruise setting of say 71% power (2300 RPM, 31 in MAP) 189 knots my TIT is reading 1550 which is about normal. What concerns me is that this setting is with the mixture full rich! Yet at this setting, the GPH, EGT, CHT, and all other parameters appear normal (19.6 gph). However, the mixture is full rich and there is no room for further enrichening the mixture for cooling or climbing.

Could this be the TIT probe or gauge (it has a new JPI 830 but with the old ship TIT probe calibrated to this) or mechanical issues with the mixture controls, fuel pump or injectors. I have had the mixture settings adjusted twice according to the Continental service bulletin and makes no difference.  Any help is definitely appreciated. Thanks.
