Mooney People,

Using G1000 ( not NXi) , Using a coupled ILS or RNAV approach, will pressing GA button only pitch up FD command or will it proceed to published miss and enter holding?

I am under the impression that autopilot will disengage and must be re engaged  along with NAV but not sure.....Thanks

I don’t know about the 700, but on the 500 pressing the TO/GA button will not disconnect the autopilot. Here’s a snippet from my AFMS:

What does the manual for your airplane say about it? The G1000 is an OEM product and some features are airframe specific. That said, my experience is that in most, TOGA disconnects the autopilot and just creates a wings level climb on the flight director. Once you have stabilized in the initial climb (and reached the proper altitude for reengagement), you reengage the AP in the appropriate horizontal and vertical modes.

GFC700 and 500 are VERY different beasts.

I occasionally fly a G-1000/GFC-700 C-182 (CAP), but don't recall for sure, but I seem to remember that it does disconnect the A/P and you have to re-engage to fly the missed.

I will go out and give it a try. Seems the GA button disconnects the AP and does only command 7 degrees pitch up with the FD.then pilot must apply full power,

follow FD command, set altitude for miss  ( or do that in advance) re start AP ,reset flaps and use either NAV or HEADING (if vectors) and with NAV , should proceed on autopilot to published miss and enter holding......I think....Stay  Tuned;)

Definitely no auto-throttle :D

Look no further than the G1000 Pilot Guide for the M20R, M, and TN:
