Hello Everyone! I’m waiting for my A&P to look at a main door issue for me on my ‘95 Ovation, but I thought I’d throw this out in the mean time just to satisfy my curiosity. The back pin has popped loose in flight 4 times recently. The door remains closed because the latch at the top of the door continues to hold it securely. There’s nothing obviously out of place (to me) except for the orientation and length of the latch pin. The pin length seems a little short. Seems like there should be more pin entering the plate in the frame. I’m also wondering if the pin is oriented incorrectly. It seems like the pin should be rotated 180 degrees so the tapered side of the pin is facing toward the cabin; like a typical household door latch would be. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. Sounds like your all set, but Jeff S is located at KLUK with over 2,000 in Mooneys. We flew together for about 25 this past spring in our Ovation, getting me back up to speed.

There were many inaccuracy in the ad, Ken! I had to piece together the specs from it's previously listings. I also has factory O2.

We were very lucky! I just happen to be the first person to get to the broker. He actually knew what he had, but the seller set the price. He was the original owner, was no longer able to fly and just wanted it to go to a good home. The engine is past TBO, but still very strong. We thought the same...after an avionics upgrade, and eventually a new engine, we should have a pretty solid bird for a really reasonable investment.

Congrats, Yarvi! Looks familiar. :-) We just picked up ours about a month ago. We couldn't be happier with our choice. Mike
