Pinecone Posted January 13, 2024 Report Posted January 13, 2024 Any rumblings about dates? Need to start planning some things. Quote
hubcap Posted January 13, 2024 Report Posted January 13, 2024 I know some talk has been going on. My wife talked to Janet Maxwell in the last week or so. Quote
Pinecone Posted January 14, 2024 Author Report Posted January 14, 2024 I am looking at doing a 2 day, in person training at Garmin, and what to see if there is any conflict. But should be OK, as the training is Mon - Tues. Quote

Pinecone Posted January 15, 2024 Author Report Posted January 15, 2024 I was planning on getting in touch to see if you were convenient. Seems you are. Quote

Pinecone Posted January 15, 2024 Author Report Posted January 15, 2024 Hmm, I will make time for that. 1 Quote
shawnd Posted January 17, 2024 Report Posted January 17, 2024 I am hoping third time is the charm - been wanting to attend since 2022...2024 it is! 1 Quote
Pinecone Posted January 17, 2024 Author Report Posted January 17, 2024 I hope there is one and that you make it. Would be good to see another 252 on the ramp. It seems our planes may be close off the line. What is your serial number? DM if you prefer. Quote
Aerodon Posted January 17, 2024 Report Posted January 17, 2024 N252XM SN1026 @shawnd N252VM SN1057 @Pinecone N252RM SN1061 @Aerodon No sequence in the N#'s though Quote
shawnd Posted January 17, 2024 Report Posted January 17, 2024 We are pretty darn close though @Aerodon curious if you ever had your bird serviced at Advanced Aircraft in Oregon? I know @Pinecone has, mine goes there now. Maybe another similarity? Quote
Pinecone Posted January 17, 2024 Author Report Posted January 17, 2024 Technically no, I have not. But the previous owner did. Strange that the N-numbers did not sequence. Or did the go from XM to XN to XO then at sometime back to xM Quote
shawnd Posted January 17, 2024 Report Posted January 17, 2024 > Technically no, I have not. But the previous owner did. Yep - I remember our discussion on the Encore conversion. Mine will be going through that this year or next! > Strange that the N-numbers did not sequence. Or did the go from XM to XN to XO then at sometime back to xM Wondering if anyone who worked at Mooney can chime in on the pattern they used. Could be topic for Mooney Max! Quote
Pinecone Posted January 17, 2024 Author Report Posted January 17, 2024 Do you have the Monroy tanks? The combo is killer. I can carry 104 gallons of fuel, two reasonably sized people and a lot of baggage. Quote
shawnd Posted January 17, 2024 Report Posted January 17, 2024 Nope, but maybe will look into it. My family is growing so this is definitely something to consider (after of course, more space in general - haha) Quote
RoundTwo Posted January 18, 2024 Report Posted January 18, 2024 We’re hoping to attend this year as well. It was a great event last year. Maybe this year it will be cool and comfortable. Ha ha Quote

They could only use what numbers the FAA had available. In those days they reserved every "201" and "252" N-number available, but there were definitely gaps. Some N-numbers they reservedjust had one letter (i.e. N252A). Joe Schmerber at Mooney was always the one who you would see on correspondence to the FAA requesting special N-Numbers. By the way, Kevin Kammer, who now works at Mooney used to be a co-owner in N252XM back in the mid-90's. Quote
jlunseth Posted January 18, 2024 Report Posted January 18, 2024 @hubcap Come to the Angel Flight Central banquet in KC next fall, usually November, and if you do, let me know I usually have a table and some extra tickets. 1 Quote
shawnd Posted January 18, 2024 Report Posted January 18, 2024 Yep, many folks at various service shops on the west coast knew/know him. His signatures are all over the aircraft logbooks. He will be happy to know the bird is well taken care of 3 hours ago, LANCECASPER said: By the way, Kevin Kammer, who now works at Mooney used to be a co-owner in N252XM back in the mid-90's. Quote
