Hi All,

I'm looking for some advice.

I want to update a KLN 94 unit, I am facing the error “Erase Error Bank 0 Address C0000" I can't figure this one out even with the troubleshooting steps given in the manual.

Anybody can assist in resolving this issue.

Thanks, please

I'm not familiar with the “Erase Error Bank 0 Address C0000", but I removed a KLN94 from my Mooney last year, it has a (then) current database card in it.  Are you looking for for a replacement?

I'm pretty sure that means the memory location C0000 is shot.  If this is in regards to the data card me thinks you need a new card.  If this is an INTERNAL memory check...I'm afraid you maybe looking at replacing the KLN94

Sounds like error in internal flash memory of chip (stm, str) than the memory of the external data card (sdcard, sandisk), you want to bet?

To OP, have you looked that this website? there are stuff related to updating KLN GPS if you are keen

KLN94 uses CF card and not an SD one.

In addition to the above mentioned CF card with the nav database, there is an internal flash memory chip and an external one, mounted at the back of the tray.  The later two hold the configuration settings. There is an option in menu to save the current configuration to the external chip or to load the configuration from the external chip. All this to quickly swap the radio if needed.

Looking at the KLN94 manual, it looks like U6 chip on the main board is kaput. Not sure the replacement part is available. Even if it is, it will be quite an exercise to resolder it :) You might want to look for a replacement unit or the main board.
