Nayak Aviation Corps Electric Landing Gear STC

Any chance anyone knows about a STC for electric landing gear by a company named Nayak Aviation Corps? My ‘64 M20E had it done OCT 1964, seemingly straight from the factory?

The company still exists in San Antonio, you could give them a call. You could search for the STC number on Google. I can’t read it from your pic.

I believe this is it, with the current holder.

Yeah I searched the FAA DRS website and also found the current holder of the STC. I’m going to give them a call. Really all I want is some sort of instructional manual about installation. I’m going through my annual right now and don’t have much relative to proper operation, emergency extension, etc.

Was this a conversion using Mooney factory parts?

Potentially; the emergency extension for the electric gear is to disconnect the jackscrew and use Johnson bar to lock the gear down. It seems very reliable, most others I speak to have to crank a wheel to extend.

That’s definitely different. It would be interesting ti see how that works mechanically.

Normally the j bar is directly connected to the gear… are you saying theres a jbar in the airplane but it doesn’t normally move with the electric gear?
