BigD Posted May 16, 2023 Report Posted May 16, 2023 Planning my next annual inspection in a few months, and one of my suggestions I received last year was that I need to replace the brake hydraulic lines on the landing gear. Anyone have any good recommendations on a source for these? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Quote
Z W Posted May 16, 2023 Report Posted May 16, 2023 Just got a set made from https://aircrafthosestore.com/ after reading a recommendation here. Emailed them, got a quick response, shipped them the old ones, they made new custom hoses and sent them back within a week. They sent the old ones back with them and they were identical in length and make. Cost right at $200.00 for the set with shipping. Very happy with the experience. 2 Quote
Skates97 Posted May 16, 2023 Report Posted May 16, 2023 I ordered them through Precision Hose https://www.aircrafthose.com/ and was happy with the price and service. In February 2022 I paid $76.68ea for them. I didn't need to send in the old ones, limited down time, had them ready to swap out during annual. 2 Quote
Yetti Posted May 17, 2023 Report Posted May 17, 2023 It is possible to order the hose. Take the ends off put them on the new hose. You will need a mandrel a vise and a saw and proper size wrench. 1 Quote
RLCarter Posted May 17, 2023 Report Posted May 17, 2023 Hose is cheap and they are easily made in house with the mandrel (s) 2 Quote
Kelpro999 Posted May 19, 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2023 Most of the cost is shiny new fittings. If that’s not too important just remake with bulk hose and your fittings. Shiny is nice though Quote
cliffy Posted May 19, 2023 Report Posted May 19, 2023 Although a mandrel is nice for those just new hose and a 90 degree AN fitting will work just fine. 90 degree so it can be clamped in a vice while you make up ,the hose Might take 30 mins total I use a hand held cut off wheel to cut the hose. Jim Peace Posted May 20, 2023 Report Posted May 20, 2023 Happened at the creek this morning during a young eagles ride. Word is it was a brake issue. Quote
cferr59 Posted May 20, 2023 Report Posted May 20, 2023 When reinstalling, be careful how the hose is routed. Mine were changed and got pinched by the gear when it was lowered. Applied the brakes after landing and the one brake hung up causing the aircraft to veer to the side of the runway. Fortunately, it stayed on the runway. Quote
RobertGary1 Posted May 22, 2023 Report Posted May 22, 2023 I just called precision and they sent them. Quote
