Yesterday I talked to a home-health oxygen delivery person in the SLC area and learned that the no-insurance for a regulator, several D+E tanks and unlimited refills (delivered) is $30/month.

An unlimited complete oxygen solution for significantly less cost than a Garmin database subscription!

You will probably need a prescription to get it. I refill mine for less than that.

LOL, I wonder if you could use medical tanks to transfill an installed O2 tank :D

Yes, the right adapter.

But if they are the typical smallish home tanks to people can move around easily, you won't get much of a fill

$360/year is about 6 times what I spend with my O2D2.
I remember my father had his doctor write him a prescription for” hypobaric hypoxemia.” Shouldn’t be that hard to get.

Definitely more than an O2D2 long-term, but probably the cheapest way to go short run (eg, for a trip to the mountains).

Probably do need a scrip, last time I needed one I had my wife write me one. No need for a specific medical condition to be listed unless you want insurance to pay. (Mine just said "up to 6 liters per minute per nasal cannula as needed")
