Continental TSIO 360 MB1 oil filter

Trying to find oil filter. Anyone know the difference between a Champion CH48108-1 and Tempest AA48108-2

Can I use the Tempest ?  Cant seem to find the CH48108-1 anywhere. Any advice ?

I like the tempest filter and use it on mine. Do not put oil on o-ring. The EZ function of the ring already has chemicals in the ring to help it to easily be removed when required. Also get a torque wrench on the filter for installing. Tried the hand tight and then another 3/4 turn and that was not enough it started leaking. After torquing it i was surprised just how tight the filter needs to be but it does not leak.

Tempest has approval now you can use a 48108 filter  in place of the 48109. They are now interchangeable.

Pre fill the filter with oil before installing it on your Continental engine.

What’s the strategy for an upside-down filter on a Continental 520?

There are special order versions with a filler cap on the top of the filter for use on the 520 series, but never install these on a TSIO-360 in a K model they leak when installed upside down.

You can always punch a hole in it and fill it with oil carefully and then screw a drywall screw into the hole to seal it.
