I’m most likely going to make an offer on an F next week. Gorgeous bird. But the tanks haven’t been resealed in quite a long time if ever. They have been patched. If they were to require a full reseal, who in Texas or Arkansas would you recommend? How much would it cost?

Houston Tank Specialist.

They've done a lot of Mooneys - $8-10k depending on what needs to be done or found during reseal. Mooney Summit Sponsors I believe...

ck out theMooneyflyer.com for their news letters...

A good pre-purchase inspection should give you insight to the tank’s sealant health…

Carl Sharon is around here somewhere… @HoustonTankSpecialistsLLC (This may be a dead link)

Next on the nearest list is Florida… So find Carl… I got to discuss tank sealing with him at Mooney Summit a while ago…

Does it leak or are you just anticipating that it might?

Owner says it’s showing signs of seepage. Not really a leak, he says.

Mine's been "seeping" since I've owned it.    Sometimes it's not a big issue or can be fixed with a patch.

Too often new owners jump into a reseal when it’s not necessary. My last tank seal went 45 years. Small staining isn’t concerning. The manual shows you how to measure staining

This is what I’m hoping.

If I get to buy the F I’m looking at, I’ll certainly be posting many pictures.

I should be getting to check it out next week. Hopefully I can make a deal. It’s a sweet looking bird in the pics I’ve seen.

What year?   I had to permatex #3 some screws this year.   Also I thought the right one was leaking, but I replaced the outer sender seal and nope all good.
