Anyone close to this plane, or familiar with it?

Looking at this plane.  Its a little far from me (1000nm), just wondering if anyone knows the plane or can lay eyes on it?

Thanks!

There's a guy in Coeur d'Alene Airport (KCOE) that works on Mooneys (blanking on the name).  If you're that interested, maybe it's worth having him fly over.

Pending his plane, it's looks like it's about an hour flight from KCOE to KGTF.

Last flight tracked on Flight Aware was Oct 2020...at least it's stored in a hangar in dry country.

I live about 25 Mooney minutes south of Great Falls.  My last annual was done by Jerry Gresens at Helena Aircraft. Jerry was in business before I started flying and has experience with Mooneys.  He would be a good resource if you get towards a PPI. (406)442-8360

So did you find out something that deterred you from the purchase? I’m in Georgia and interested in it but i don’t want to waste my time… I see it’s still for sale..

I talked with the previous owner and he had all good things to say about it.  Thats as far as I got in the research.

I have decided to wait for the market to make up its mind, both the stock market and the airplane market, and look for a F/J. I will use the rear space.

The real story is inside the wings and inside the engine, but I wonder if the first picture is a gizmo used to overpower a fuel selector that needs attention.  I also notice in the second picture below that the only puddle in the picture is under the wing -- wonder what made that puddle?  Neither of these are "deal breakers".  Just things that jump out from the pictures.

Those contraptions are commonplace among vintage Mooney owners that are anatomically challenged with regard to the fuel selector location. Not indicative of a problem with the selector. Even if it was, rebuilding a selector should not be a big deal.

I must have long arms or something. I just reach down with my right hand between the seat front and my right calf. No straining, no drama. If I try to reach between my legs, my shoulder hits the yoke as I rotate my torso.

You have long arms or something.  Really should use a doohickey but I'm both too cheap to buy one and too lazy to make one.

I used PVC I had laying around. Best idea ever! The only difference between mine and the one on Spruce is that its not red. Saved me $30.

Yeah, but I really like my red….;)

I have really short arms and have to slide the seat back to get past my hangover.   The tank switcher thingy is my best bet....

Mark

I always fly with my shoulder harness on.  The PVC extender is a must.

Since this thread has already been hijacked, I think this guy was just into his gadgets.  His tug looks like a converted snow blower.  I have been considering making one myself.  Don’t need it yet, I just like home made gadgets, but tough to find a used snow blower in the Bay Area.
