  1. As a F model owner w/ a similar setup, this looks like a really good deal! I don't think I would part w/ mine for that, assuming pre-buy is good. Someone is going to be really happy.
  2. Reel for pilot, static for passenger. I felt like backseat entries would hit the reel.
  3. Just had mine done by Ron and Glenn at 14A ,very happy with that decision.
  4. My F is 148kts true, but the payload with full fuel is where it shines. 649 lbs. interestingly enough though, when discussing with Lynn about his C model at the time, his payload was only 10 lbs less than mine with full fuel. 14 less gallons but also a 180 horse. That impressed me anyways.
  5. I guess the first thing I would suggest is Location, from and where to , unless I missed it. Good Luck.
  6. After reading this I have concluded,I must be a redneck lol.
  7. 80 lb Doberman, asleep before takeoff. No problem!
  8. Hanger in NC ,KMRN is $275/month. Insurance went up to $3100 this past year . I’m almost 300 hours in type/model so who knows what that expense will be for you. I , too ,subscribe to the don’t add it up policy. Otherwise I would logically need to sell the plane. I just pay as I go, and try to stay ahead of any maintenance issues. Hope you get your Mooney!
  9. Cowl enclosure increased by 3 kts or so.. really marginal and almost undetectable. The cooling ,however, was very noticeable and worth the $500 (used) I think I paid. Plus I do feel it looks a little better.
  10. Previous owner called mine “keeper “. Not sure of the origin. Naturally my wife just calls her Foxtrot.
  11. I’m sure I have seen this in the past but can’t seem to find the thread. Looking at moving to a bigger hanger as they don’t come available often, but don’t know what I would do with the extra space. Therefore not sure if I should. Thanks in advance. Thomas
  12. Doing a 10 minute run up in front of my hanger seems to be the norm when im tryng to put my plane up, SMH. Would like to say this is isolated, but truth is , these things happen in all walks of life. It just seems magnified when interjected with flying. Glad it worked out for you.
  13. I actually enjoyed the movie. Lots of flaws, but it’s a movie.
  14. Facing backwards Right knee on passengers seat, right hand on rear seat so not much weight on passengers seat back, roll in. Basically opposite to dismount. Works well for me.
  15. Thanks for the insight. Just purchased the far/aim and knowledge test prep from Gleim. We will see. Thanks again. Thomas
  16. So I purchased Shepard air last year and couldn’t seem to get the hang of it. I simply do not care for it being iPad based, I like book versions. Anyway looking for suggestions to study for the written test. Thanks in advance. Thomas
  17. I seem to recall 25k. I thought that was amazing,but50k? Unbelievable to me, especially since they are most often well thought out, articulated and helpful. Congratulations sir!
  18. 1 week. No problems, but didn’t get very sick anyway. ‘I echo the if not 100%, don’t risk it.
  19. Decided based on your opinions, to go with the inertia for pilot and static for co-pilot. Cost for parts was around $1500. Not sure what labor will be. Will update when completed. Thanks for the insight. Thomas
  20. Sounds like the Following planes didn’t plan very well. That’s on them. ‘Thomas
  21. Funny,my wife said the same thing. Never gonna hear the end of that one. I was leaning toward the reel , but now not so much. Thanks for that.
  22. So I’m having shoulder harnesses installed in my 1967F model, the question is should I do the inertia real type or the static type?(not sure if that’s the proper description.) There’s only a $300 difference so either one will work I just don’t know what are the pros and cons of each are Thanks in advance
