Jerry 5TJ Posted April 3, 2022 Report Posted April 3, 2022 The next MAPA Safety Foundation PPP is this month, 29 April - 1 May (Dates Corrected) in Santa Maria, California. I’m scheduled to be one of the many flight instructors there. I look forward to seeing some of you there. 1 Quote

Alan and Brenda, Tell Brenda hi for me and I hope you guys are doing well. I am sorry to tell you but the date for the Santa Maria CA PPP has had to change to April 29-May 1 because the hotel had another event planned and had no room for our group. Can you attend on this changed date? If so I will get you a confirmation letter on the way. Lela Quote
MikeOH Posted April 3, 2022 Report Posted April 3, 2022 The MAPA site shows April 29 to May 1. Has it been changed to April 22? Quote
carusoam Posted April 3, 2022 Report Posted April 3, 2022 Good to see Lela is still involved! Probably a record holder for Mooney years… Best regards, -a- Quote
Jerry 5TJ Posted April 3, 2022 Author Report Posted April 3, 2022 Thanks for the correction! Otherwise I might have been a little bit early. I’d entered the event date back in January and missed the change. Quote
tim417 Posted April 4, 2022 Report Posted April 4, 2022 I’m looking forward to it. Hoping weather holds out. Quote
ilovecornfields Posted April 20, 2022 Report Posted April 20, 2022 Will anyone from the Portland/Troutdale area be there? I have a bottle of whiskey that needs a ride up there and the local distillery was just recently informed that they are no longer allowed to ship. Quote

tim417 Posted April 28, 2022 Report Posted April 28, 2022 Waiting for weather to clear out here before heading up. See you guys there. Gonna be windy! Tim Quote
tim417 Posted May 1, 2022 Report Posted May 1, 2022 I was jealous of all the newer, fancier Mooneys. Mine was the only C model present. I had to leave early due to having to take my cat for an emergency vet visit. All the instructors were professionals and I will be returning for another one in the future. Loved meeting everyone and I wish I could have stayed for the banquet. 1 Quote
amillet Posted May 1, 2022 Report Posted May 1, 2022 Back home. PPP #11 for me. Always learn something new and great excuse for a cross country flight. Flew down across Cascades into the Central Valley. Got to see old friends. Returned along Pacific Coast to lessen the headwind component 5 Quote
elimansour Posted May 3, 2022 Report Posted May 3, 2022 I really enjoyed this program tremendously. Learned a lot both in the classroom and in the air!! And it was wonderful to meet fellow Mooney pilots and share experiences and tips. Well worth it!! Will repeat again!! 2 Quote
carusoam Posted May 3, 2022 Report Posted May 3, 2022 Great pireps everyone! And pics too. Thanks for sharing them all. Best regards, -a- Quote
Jerry 5TJ Posted May 3, 2022 Author Report Posted May 3, 2022 In addition to as many as a dozen Mooney planes aloft at a time, the Coulson company was simultaneously doing recurrent training out of Santa Maria in two of their C-130 firefighting aircraft. Thanks to the KSMX tower for their skillful help in sorting us all out smoothly. 2 Quote
